Fast Vegetarian Feasts
Book: Fast Vegetarian Feasts
Written by: MARTHA ROSE SHULMAN
Publisher: Main Street Books
Average Customer Rating: 5.0 / 5

one of the best veggie cookbooks
Rating: 5 / 5
What a shame this book is out of print! My copy is falling apart from use. There are many wonderful recipes in this book. I love the tofu cream sauce, the baked macaroni and cheese with tofu cream sauce; the baked casserole with cheese, mushrooms, and bread; and the many wonderful vegetarian soup recipes (like pasta and lentil, for example). The bread pudding recipe in this cookbook is the very best bread pudding recipe I've come across. I highly recommend this cookbook.

oh no, not out of print!
Rating: 5 / 5
This is a truly outstanding cookbook, the one that I have relied on the most for a decade. I feel lucky to have bought it. The recipes for the most part, don't call for a lot of exotic expensive ingredients. The recipes are doable for everyday meals but very well crafted, having just enough of a gourmet touch that the food tastes superb, you feel like a great cook and you won't feel embarrassed to serve them to guests.

It's the kind of book that has lots of recipes that you'll make more than once because they're tasty, not too difficult and when you eat the results, you feel really nourished and cared for. Martha Rose Shulman's presentation style and storytelling is masterful as well, making the cookbook interesting and pleasurable to read.

I'm so sad that this book is out of print. My paperback copy is falling apart and I'd love a spiral bound replacement. I can still use mine, but I was hoping to order two or three copies for friends who liked the food I made using this cookbook.

Fast, Easy & Delicious!

This is one of the best cookbooks that I have ever used. I particularly like the explanations of various foods and the shopping lists that Ms. Shulman includes in her book. The seasonal menus are excellent and really help me to plan meals that are balanced. I've recommended this book to many of my relatives and friends.
