My Review Rating:
5 / 5
In this funny and sometimes sad tale four owls take a long journey to the Great Ga'Hoole Tree. On there way something bad happens. However, the four owls travel on to the tree.
the four are gtreeted by Borron and Baran, the king and queen of Ga'Hoole. The four owls are welcomed and they rest on the tree. Later, they divide into chaws or classes. One day, something mysterirous happens and owls are being found and brought to the tree.
Amoungst the many owls coming to the tree Soren, the main character or owl I should really say, recognizes his long lost sister, Eglantine. However, just like the other owls something is wrong with her, she will not speak properly. What will happen? Only you can find out by reading this book!
The GaHoolian Journey Rating:
4 / 5
I like the book because I like owls and I like what owls discover and see. In this book, the owls' journey is to go to the Great Ga'Hoole tree. The tree is part of a famous owl legend that grownup owls tell their owlets. Our heros are hoping that its true and head up to discover the Great Ga'Hoolian tree. Along the way they have many adventures, such as battling crows, going to Narrow Lakes and Ice Narrows. In one of the beginning chapter, the owls meet a dying Barred Owl. Soren asked him if St. Aggies killed him and he said "you only wish." YOu will find the answer in book 3. From that we learn that the "only wish" is the Pure Ones, a group of devil owls, led by Soren's evil brother, Kludd, who wants to destroy the Ga'Hoole tree. I think this book is exciting. If you like bird adventures and night time adventures, then you should read this book.

I couldn't ask for a better follow-up Rating:
5 / 5
Seriously, this is all you would ever want in a sequel. Soren, Gylfie, Twilight and Digger finally reach the Great Ga'hoole tree in the middle of the book, after a several chapters on their journey--but it's not exactly what they expected. The tree is like a school and a workplace rolled into one; the four owls must learn many different skills in several classes, and are then given a "chaw", or a specific group to work with. Therefore, the many unresolved mysteries are put on the back burner for a while, as the book describes the owls' experiences in their varioius chaws. Rather than being an annoyance, though, this brief change in tone serves as a welcome break, and it also introduces us to plenty of new characters. These newly-introduced owls have well-drawn and funny personalities, and many of them play important roles in the later books.
By the end of the book, though, we're once again left with an irresistable cliffhanger that would leave anyone craving more. But I will say this--if you can hang on just a little longer, the third book reveals many secrets!
