Coldest Winter Ever
Book: Coldest Winter Ever
Written by: Sister Souljah
Publisher: Rebound by Sagebrush
Average Customer Rating: 4.75 / 5

Recommended reading for parents and young females 12+
Rating: 5 / 5
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. If I could afford it, I would purchase cases of this book and pass them out to my friends and family as well as folks I might meet on the street. I have already purchased three additional books to give to girlfriends with young daughters who have gone astray. Even though there seems to be no help for young Winter, I believe that by reading these words, young women might see the foolishness in the ways of Winter. Hopefully, through my gift of this book to my friends, they will read it and share it with their teen daughters. Then, I hope that the book will open some dialogue between parent(s) amd daugher about matters of substance. Additionally, I think this book was written in a language very easily understood by young women twelve and older. Thank you, Sister Souljah for a wonderful book.

A Modern Fairy Tale
Rating: 5 / 5
This book was really a page turner I could not put it down it only took me two days to finish. The story was based around Winter a very self centered survivior type of character. She had no problem stepping on or over family and friends to stay on top. Souljah was a bit extreme in her portrayal of winter, you really thought the character was never going to learn a lesson or get the picture. Winter is that dream girl from the ghetto that most girls like her wish they could be. The characters and the places really came alive, I really felt like I was right there living day by day with the charaters in this novel.
The novel was very real because it paints a clear portrait of Poor African American Youth, and how we have been raised to value possesions above all else. It also shows how we glamorize the life of a street hustler; and helps people who have never lived this life understand this generation. Souljah is making a bold statement with this novel, and sending a wake up call to a lot of people who need it. I adored her book!

powerful book

This was one of the best books i have ever read and it was so real. The way Sista discribed the characters was like you could really see them. Not to metioned me myself fell in love with Midnight. So i highly recommend this book to everyone.
