Mind-Blowing Hitchockian Supernatural Chiller Rating:
5 / 5
Exceptional and highly original modern-day horror novel that plays like an unholy mix of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" and Alfred Hitchcock's "North by North-West." All of the characters are completely believable, the dialogue is crackling throughout, the riveting plot is never predictable, and the ending is so moving it reduced this reader to tears.
Absoutely terrific! Rating:
5 / 5
Talk about page-turners! I read this book in one all day-all-night session. I forgot to eat and drink I was so swept away by it. It just builds and builds, and the characters are so real. When the first of them died I was so suprised and shocked. It's really funny too, especially the booze-hound Vera and her acid tongue, but more than anything else its just plain scare-you-to-death city. Of all the books I have read this is the one I would hammer down the doors to watch as a movie.
A Great Read for a Long Journey or Vacation Rating:
5 / 5
I loved it! Great characters, especially Vera with a mix of cranky behaviour but also comedy. There's something for everyone and an interesting central story that you really care about. A real adrenalin rush. Highly recommended - a gripping yarn and I thought the dialogue was great.
