Dramatic but GOOD
Rating: 4 / 5
Dawn is a cancer survivor. She has survived cancer twice. Ever since she was 13 she hasn't been an ordinary girl. When Dawn goes back to camp, her and her since dead friend Sandy went to she is a counselor. Then she meets someone unsispected. She doesn't even suspect him being there. It's not Greg. It's not Mike. But someone she has heard alot about. She never thought she'd see him here. You couldn't possibly guess who this is unless you read this book yourself. She is a very talented young girl. She is brave and daring. Then she meets Marlee. The young girl with a bad attitude and a great heart. Dawn thinks she is going to be trouble but thats what she thought. She soon finds out that Marlee isn't just a hardcore girl but a nice little angel that lives with her grandma.

If you were to want to read this book I would highly recomend this book to you. This book isn't just about Dawn with cancer but Dawn playing the hand she was dealt from God. Her life has been changed ever since that first dignosis. But in some parts you will see that it is not only dramatic but also funny.

So Much to Live For
By Lurlene McDaniel

Everybody loves summer camp right? A place to meet new friends and do fun activities. But have you ever thought about going to a camp where everyone has cancer, is sick, has no hair, missing a body part, or thinking that this might be the last time they get to have fun?
Dawn Rochelle has suffered cancer until she was thirteen when her brother gave her his bone marrow. No one knows the battle better than she does. That's why Dawn agrees to be a camp consoler at the cancer camp for a month. She had been to the camp a couple of summers when she had her cancer. That's where she met her best friend Sandy, but now Sandy is gone. And it's hard for Dawn to relive all the old memories at the camp, so if Dawn is sad, how is she going to be able to help the girls? At the camp, she meets a boy who really likes Dawn, and finds out really who he is, so will Dawn fall for him? She also finds out that not all the girls are as nice as she thought they would be. One who is Marlee. Marlee is a mean girl who is self-conscious about herself, and doesn't want to have fun. Can Dawn help Marlee change or will she ignore her when Marlee really does need her help? Read this book So Much to Live for, by Lurlene McDaniel to find out!
I really got into this book. It's an emotional book, with lots of surprises. It made me realize that I'm a really lucky person. It tells that you should treat others the way you would want o be treated back. I recommend this book to pre-teen girls.

Cancer Camp...Or Brat Camp?
Rating: 4 / 5
Dawn has had enough. She is tired of cancer, and all the depression that comes along with it. But she reluctantly agrees to be a counselor at cancer camp during the summer, and with a touch of nerves, she trains to become one of the counselors for the two weeks of camp. Finally, after training for three days, it's time for the campers to arrive, and Dawn is feeling more into the idea of helping out girls like herself, who are going through the pain and trauma of cancer. But Dawn is surprised to find that not everyone at camp is pleasent. One of her assigned campers, Marlee, is bitter, rude, and overall, just a mean girl. Can Dawn befriend Marlee...or will she still have bad feelings against the girl when she needs her most?

This book was sad, but also interesting and entertaining. It is a great follow-up to the last two books as it continues to follow the life of Dawn Rochelle, a teenage girl who is struggling with cancer. The second book was about Dawn's relationship with her brother, but this one is about Dawn's relationship with her friends. Some parts will surprise you, and others will have you absorbed in it. It is a great book that I recommend to pre-teen girls!
