Dragon's Fury: High Tide (Dragon Fury Series)

World War III against the West turns around
Rating: 5 / 5
This novel, the third in Jeff Head's series, was the most compelling regarding the overall weaving of moral principle into the horror of war and the absolute determination of the west to prevail and overcome the awful disadvantages and surprizes that the Greater Islamic Republic and the Coalition of Asian States throw at freedom loving peoiple.

While Alaska is being invaded and the north slope oil fields taken from the United States, while Russia is being invaded from the east by hordes of Chinese, Islamic and INdian forces, and after all of the Middle East has fallen and the last vestage of freedom is whooly surrounded in what is left of Israel...Mr. Head weaves a very interesting and compelling foundational moral plot line into the background of the overall war story. That plot line ultimately has the most astounding impact on the overall plot.

In the end, three decisive battles cap off this novel and end up, along with that moral underpinning, turning the tides of war.

I would recommend this series to anyone.

The characterization is very well done, their is great attention to technical detail in the battle descriptions all around the world, and the exciting and compelling nature of the whole story just grabs you and just will not let go.

Rating: 5 / 5
This third novel in Mr. Head's epic Dragon's Fury Series is by far the most compelling.

All along Mr. Head has mixed a number of social, political, immigration, and other issues into his writing about an all too believable global war developing out of current circumstances. But in this novel he brings it all together amidst the excitement and intrigue to hammer home the relevancy of underlinging moral values to the cause of America's liberty. I will not go into too much detail, but suffice it to say that the effect was, in my opinion, stunning.

In this novel, America finally starts to turn a corner and realize some positive offensive action in the global war it has been forced into against Red China and its allies, including a confederation of the fuindamental Islamic nations. In a pivotal set of circumstances that will have historians recognizing the historical relevance of events over 60 years ago...Russia s drawn into the conflict on a huge scale as well.

I can't say enough about the excitement, intrigue, attention to historical and technical detail, and the characterization that is woven into these novels. Anyone who is a fan of this genre will want to read the entire series.

Dragon?s Fury, High Tide, Volume III
Rating: 5 / 5
In Volume III of the Dragon's Fury series, Mr. Head continues his saga of World War III covering air, naval, and land engagements on all seven continents and oceans. Most frighteningly, his story illustrates the realistic and probable levels of conventional warfare in a world war within the next few years, requiring only slight advances in technology and the continuation of current political and economic trends.

High Tide is much more than a story of military adventure. It is a story of our nation's commitment to survival and freedom. It is a continuous lesson in geography, technology, economics, politics, patriotism, sacrifice, and above all, faith. It is a wake-up call to America's people and politicians. And although future alliances will take different shapes on the world stage, I believe some form of this scenario is inevitable.

Mr. Head pursues an optimistic path in his determination that the people of America can pull together in their efforts to fight back after a devastating series of military defeats and terrorist attacks. Whether his optimism is justified, we will know in a few years.
