Anne of Green Gables for the Christian Girl/Woman
Rating: 5 / 5
If you are a Christian woman in need of a real heroine, who shares your desires, hopes, struggles, and fears, you will find it in Katy, the character of Mrs. Prentiss' book, Stepping Heavenward. I was so despondent of all the heroines in literature, who seem to have little to no real relationship with Christ. However, this book answered my plea and then some. I will read this over and over. Stepping Heavenward will meet you whereever you are, Christian woman! If you are sixteen, twenty-five, or eighty. This book lays the female Christian heart on the line, and does so with stunning accuracy and detail to Biblical doctrine. You will laugh, cry, be convicted, comforted and reminded over and over and over that we will be in His Kingdom because He died for us, and no other reason! And that in this present world there is hope, and sanctification will happen because He is so diligent to see to it!

Encouraging & Uplifting
Rating: 5 / 5
Have you ever been overwhelmed by your struggles with sin and holiness? This book reminds us that we are not alone, but that all believers walk the long, difficult, but ultimately joyfully path of Christianity. It is an encouragement to watch Katy mature and grow, even when she sees no growth in herself. Her battles are the same battles we all face: pride, anger, a feeling of distance from God, troublesome relatives... When times of difficulty come she finds her best refuge in prayer and the shed blood of Jesus and reminds you to do the same. For a good laugh, cry, and reflection on God's great love and patience with us, spending some time reading this book.

You will read it again and again
Rating: 5 / 5
This book displays the struggles and joys of the female Christian walk. Yet, it is also a very interesting story, not a self-help book. I loved the old english writing, as it is a 100 years old. It is a must have. I have already bought 5 copies to give away and am now on my 6th! If you are a Christian girl or woman and want to learn more about your walk, but this book!
