From it's unexpected opening, Southern Song kept me turning the "pages"! Rosemary Laurey has gifted readers with true-to-life characters, infused with compassion and fired with passion--for their work and for each other. Ms. Laurey exhibits an understanding of teenage alcoholism and of the extraordinary lives of special needs students. I highly recommend Southern Song, not only to teachers, but to anyone who wants a fast-paced, emotionally-satisfying read!
