Get this one and read it. You won't be disappointed.
Rating: 5 / 5
So often a novel suffers from some flaw in plot, storytelling, whatever.

This one does not.
It is constantly funny (not old cliched gags or observations, either) and, speaking of cliches, unflaggingly fast-paced. No kidding, there are no slow-downs in the action at all, unlike many other well-reviewed books.

Extremely entertaining in every regard, from first page to last. This book will not disappoint.

I loved this book!

This book has it all. Doug is a wonderful nave-but-not protagonist, fabulous sense of place, great characters, wonderful dialogue that at time had me laughing aloud, and an ending that definitely makes you want to go along with Doug on his next adventure. A contender for my annual top 10 list, I loved this book!

Rarely do I finish a book in less than 10 days...it usually takes me about a month. This book was really awesome. What I liked the most about this book is that it accurately portrayed the places that Doug Pearce visited. I loved the chapters in Egypt and Bahrain. As an Egyptian whose seen both egypt and the gulf countries I have to say the descriptions were on the spot. And I loved some of the characters too....Abe Abdoul Razzaq and the folks in the Bahraini bar are very familiar....it's like I've known them for years.
